A: I wouldn't try it Steve. I am not familiar with the "lip" that you are talking about, but I am a firm believer in using things as what they are designed for. Maybe if I knew more about this "lip", I might advise you differently. As a side note, I am very happy with the mattress. Very comfortable and seems to made of good quality.
